Berta Lazarovici

Berta LazaroviciBerta is a busy working mum of 2 young children, living in Swords. Berta understands very well what is means to juggle between daily responsibilities, house duties, and caring for the children. With more than 10 years’ experience in human resources and business consultancy, Berta has decided to leave behind the rather sterile corporate environment and dive straight into the creative and passionate life of childcare services. Berta wants to get more involved in the community and bring a contribution to the lives of those who live around her. She found no better way to do this than combine her studies in education & psychology with her business management experience to solve a problem in childcare that she and family, along with many of her friends are also facing.

Get in Touch

Before School Care:

Starting December 2016 we are welcoming children not only in the afternoons but also in the mornings. We open from 7:45 and at 9:00 we drop off the children to their class lines. During this time, we offer them a heathy breakfast (cereals and milk, toast with butter, natural yoghurt with fruits, etc.). They also get the chance to play some of their favourite games & activities (be it UNO, beading or anything else) before starting their school day.

After School Care:

We start our afternoon at 1:40 by collecting the Junior and Senior infants from their classes. Everyone starts working on their homework and once this is done, we have a quick snack (toast and/ or fruit) and then it’s free playtime. At 2:40 the older children come in and we really kick off the afternoon programme. Once the kids have eaten and finished their homework we have a daily themed activity. Whether it’s Arts & Crafts, Music and Drama or our already-famous Friday Fun Days, kids have great fun in a relaxed, yet stimulating environment.

Children can be picked up anytime throughout the afternoon, giving parents much needed flexibility.

Holiday Care:

We are organising camps that are open to any children aged 4-12 during mid-terms, school closure days and holidays. Camps usually run from 9am to 2pm with before camp and after camp options available.

Programme Manager – Cathy Sayers

Cathy Sayers

My name is Cathy Sayers. I have a Fetac Level 6 in Supervision in Childcare and Fetac Level 5 in Understanding Special Needs. While initially, I worked for many years in the financial sector I always knew that I wanted to work with children and have been doing so for the past four years. My recent time in the childcare sector has only reinforced my passion for the education and care of children. I am also very passionate about horses and am now training hard in showjumping.

Over these years I have learned that no day is ever the same when working with children and nothing is more fulfilling then seeing a child grow and develop skills they can carry with them for the rest of their lives. My favourite part of working with children is being able to provide them with a rich, stimulating and fun environment.  I always make sure that all their needs are recognized and provided for. I am excited to begin my journey with Sherpa Kids and look forward to meeting and getting to know all of the children at Scoil Padraic Cailini.

Qualifications:

Level 5 Childcare

Level 5 Understanding Special needs

Level 6 Supervision in Childcare

Programme Assistant – Shauna O’ Brien

My name is Shauna O Brien. I have a Fetac Level 5 in Understanding Special Needs and Childcare. I have had a passion for working in childcare from a very young age and drove myself to get the results I needed in order to fulfil my dream. In my spare time I volunteer in a soup kitchen in Dublin and cater for those who sleep rough.

I have lived in Australia for two years where I worked as an au pair for two separate families. While working in childcare I quickly became more in love with the job than I could ever imagine, I enjoy watching the children grow up and become more independent and confident in themselves. I am very excited to begin working with Sherpa Kids and develop further my experience of working in a childcare sector.
