We offer fully flexible before & after school care for all students of Holy Family National School, Portlaoise. You only pay for the hours that you need. Our before school care includes breakfast club and our after school has a homework club. More information on our opening times see below.

Before School Care: 7.30am to 8:50am – Monday to Friday
We provide a comfortable environment for children to spend time with us before starting their day. We offer a variety of healthy breakfast to children to set them up for a day of learning including Porridge, Eggs & Toast, Natural Yogurt with Fruit and more. The rest of the morning is spent playing games, reading and working on projects we are working on that week in the afternoons.
After School Care: 1.30pm to 6.00pm – Monday to Friday
Each week we run a different theme at our service engaging in different activities each day such as Arts & Crafts, Music & Drama, Cooking, Science, Sports & Games. We dedicate a portion of our day to allow for homework to be completed and kids enjoy snack time catching up on each others day.
Holiday Care : 8:00am – 6:00pm on school holidays/closure days
For midterm and closure days we will run camps that cover a typical school day, on these days our usual before and after school services will also run. Each camp will be priced individually based on the number of days it will run, contact us for more information.
Hi, My name is Rosie and I’m the Programme Co-Ordinator. I have worked in the childcare sector for over 10 years. I have a B.A, in Early Childhood Care and Education, Lamh, PECS and Child Protection Training. I am Garda Vetted.
Throughout my time in the Child care sector, I have been Room Leader to ECCE classes & Toddlers, An afterschool practitioner and a home tutor to a child with Special Needs. I enjoy encouraging children to express themselves creatively and become independent beings. I also Volunteer my time weekly to the local Youth Work Ireland Café. This is really a rewarding experience.

Hi, My name is Emma and I have completed my FETAC Level 5 in Childcare. I have worked in 2 crèches before joining here in February. I have completed a Child Protection and Aistear course as well. I am Garda Vetted.
I love working with children and getting them active and involved in sports and games. I am very active and play football and enjoy going for walks and playing other sports. I also enjoy Baking. I have also done summer camps with children from all ages and I really enjoyed it.
Hi, My name is Caitriona Costello. I completed my FETAC level 5 in childcare in 2011 and had been working in a crèche in Portlaoise until January 2018 where I began an exciting new journey with Sherpa Kids. I’ve always loved working with children. They make each and every day exciting and they find joy in the smallest things, a good daily reminder for us adults.
I am currently studying my QQI Level 6 in Childcare part time. I have also completed various training courses, including child protection, fire safety and first aid.
