Commitment to Accessibility

At Sherpa Kids Ireland, we are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, in accordance with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA. We strive to provide a digital experience that is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust, aligning with the principles outlined in EN 301 549.

Conformance Status

Sherpa Kids Ireland has been tested with industry-standard accessibility tools and is 96% compliant as required by the EAA and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.1 AA from June 28, 2025.

Non-Compliant Areas

We will continue to review and improve the level of compliance on the Sherpa Kids Ireland website. Areas on our website may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria due to technical limitations or ongoing development. These include:

  • Use descriptive language & labels on interactive buttons, ensuring they have discernible names

  • Implementing descriptive ALT text for all images

  • Use descriptive language & labels on links, ensuring they have descriptive, accessible names

  • Correcting colour contrast issues to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards for normal and large text as well as graphical objects and user interface components

  • Ensuring proper definition of list structure and elements

  • Ensuring heading hierarchy is logically structured

  • Ensure all content sits within appropriate landmark regions

  • Ensure all headings contain discernible text
